The project includes a number of initiatives and events spread across the territory coordinated by the Cooperativa Sociale Raggio di Luce in cooperation with the Movimento Apostolico Ciechi (MAC) Lazio and the Centro Braille San Giacomo, promoted with the contribution of the Italian Prime Minister's Office - Structure of mission national anniversaries and national and international sports events. The three main activities of the project are: the scientific survey 'Inclusion and Technology' carried out by experts in the field, with the participation of researchers from the University of Rome La Sapienza; the docu-reality on the everyday life of visually impaired people; the afternoon interactive exhibition, set up at the Rector's Palace of the University La Sapienza in Rome.

GBD Italian Initiative is a network of institutes/research institutions and universities collaborating with the Global Burden of Disease Study coordinated by the IHME, Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington. The aim is to provide a metric capable of quantifying the demand for health for approximately 250 countries worldwide. Data and analyses are updated annually and trended from 1990 to the present. The network "retrieves", uses, creates databases in order to feed and revise the estimates of health demand for Italy and the Italian regions produced by the IHME so as to use them for various purposes including, among others, measuring universal health coverage and the performance of health systems. The network produces information for the elaboration of regional prevention plans (Tuscany, Friuli, Emilia Romagna, Piedmont), the organization of specific health services such as the dementia plan of the region of Apulia, the management of diabetes services, etc.

The project offers young convicts the opportunity to write as a means of evasion, assisted by peers who are studying what writing means: to show how writing can be a great tool for inner reflection, for recovering parts of oneself, for re-elaborating negative, destructive, or self-destructive feelings, for regaining awareness, for restoring a new existential path. Secondly, the project shows young university students a difficult and uncomfortable reality such as prison: a world that is often unknown, opaque and mysterious to those outside the containment walls. The project intends to create a flow of reciprocal exchanges: it will allow students to have a perhaps slightly more analytical look at reality (where the distinction between what is good and what is bad is not always clear-cut, but where there are people with their dignity, with heir experiences, with their mistakes), and for prisoners to overcome the emotional climate often characterized by fear and distrust. The dialogue between young people and the opportunity to give them a say is one of the innovative aspects of the project, which poses a great challenge. A challenge taken up by Sapienza, which has taken on the role of interpreter and promoter of policies for inclusion, respect and recognition of the other, which are fully reflected in teaching, research and public engagement.
